About Me

I am an herbalist, doula, and consulting environmental scientist. A little incongruent, perhaps, but that's the path I've traveled so far.  I graduated from the Evergreen State College in 1993 with a bachelor's of science. My studies were focused on medicinal plants and fungi, ethnobotany, and natural history. I received a certificate from the East-West Herb School in 2007. In November 2009, I took the ToLabor doula certification course, which I repeated in November 2012.

I am the mother of two amazing daughters, and being a mother has been the most profound experience of my life. I am a long-time practitioner of the martial arts. I live in the mountains because I am enchanted with hiking, mountain biking, trail running, cycling, rock climbing, ice climbing, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, meditating cliff-side, and generally just being closer to the sky.

I enjoy leading herb classes and herb walks, and I particularly enjoy helping people learn about ways enhance their emotional and physical wellness through the use of medicinal herbs, whole foods, mindfulness, and motion.
